Do Less and Accomplish More!
More than likely you have experienced the feeling of being so busy that you just could not get anything you needed to do ... done. At times you may even find yourself procrastinating on certain tasks because you really do not have the time to get them done.
You may even be experiencing a lull in your life because you have been unable to accomplish the things that could actually drastically impact your life in the most positive way.
So just what am I talking about … You see, there is a very basic principle that some people are familiar with that can be very helpful in all areas of your life, both business and personal. The principle I am speaking of is the 80/20 rule. Simply, this rule says that just 20% of your activities in life will actually bring you 80% of your results.
If you work in a sales sphere, you will find that 80% of what you make probably comes from only 20% of your customer base. In personal relationships you will find that you will learn 80% of the person’s personality in just the beginning 20% of the time you spend with them. Now, when it comes to personal development, it is going to take 80% of your time to achieve that last 20% of progress that you need.
What? Now you are probably very confused. Well, let me explain. You will find that when you are working on personal development, at first you will find that 20% of your activities will bring about 80% of the results you want; however, near the end it will take 80% of your activities to bring about the last 20% of results that you want. So, you may be wondering how people who excel and people that are just average are different. Are the ones who develop their personal abilities that ones that excel and succeed, and are professionals actually more developed that average people tend to be?
You see, there is yet another side to this rule. This side states that 20% of those in business will actually do 80% of the business. This means that 80% of the money paid out to doctors will go to 20% of the doctors and that 80% of the dry cleaning will go to only 20% of the dry cleaners. Also you will find that 80% of the money for music will go to a mere 20% of the world’s musicians. So, what can you learn from this? Well, if you want to get excellent results from the activities you are doing, then you need to be the best. However, being the best takes time, work, and commitment, and all of those are hard to do.
Because these things are so hard to do, most people do not want to take the time to do them, which is why this principle actually works. You see most people are just willing to be average at what they do instead of being the best, but if you are willing to invest the rit kind of effort, you can soar above the average. You will end up being the one that can do things that no on else can do in a way that cannot be duplicated.
Diect your best efforts in 'right' direction, and you will be stunned and delighted by the results.
Do you ever have difficulty focusing? Does it seem that there are so many things around you that you miss because you can't keep track of it all? Do you have problems remembering things? Are your visualizations fuzzy and unclear?
I've seen a lot of pills and herbal products that are supposed to help with focus and memory, but they only provide a temporary boost, nothing permanent. And do you want to depend on chemicals for the rest of your life?
Building mental skills is much like building muscles. You candevelop greater strength by doing proper exercise, whether it's physical strength or mental strength.
